It belonged to my friend's grandmother--I was told her grandfather had built the base so it could sit on the floor, but it looks to be all one piece. It still has the weaving her grandmother was working on--we added a bit to it for practice. The weft and the warp are both falling apart so I'll going to have to remove it eventually and learn how to warp it.
I'm not even sure what kind of loom it is. I've been trying to look up different looms online and it seems it is a four harness counterbalance loom? I can't believe my good fortune in having such a beautiful piece passed on to me, I promise to give it a good home. They wanted it to go to someone who would use it and I can't wait to get started, I just need to figure out what I'm doing first.
