I walked to the post office today to mail a package, it's only about 5 blocks away and while it was cold the sun was shining. Brian was at a slow point with work so I just left the girls at home. One of the things I like about walking places is I can just daydream endlessly--or mentally write blog posts, such as this one. On the way back I stopped at the drug store to get milk and some snacks for the girls. The drug store carries quite a few food items, but tends to be more expensive than the grocery store, so I only shop there when I just need a few things and don't want to drive anywhere.
Sometimes it's kind of a struggle for me to shop there, because I have this ingrained thriftiness and I sometimes see shopping there as trading off penny-pinching for convenience. So I always try to walk (it's only two blocks away, it really seems kind of silly to drive anyway) and at least feel I am trying to be more ecological-minded. Although if I were truly making an effort I'd finally buy one of those wheeled shopping carts and walk to the big grocery store that's about a mile away.
I finished the apron dresses. Isn't this peony fabric amazing? I don't usually go for bold prints, but there was something about this one that appealed to me.
Both dresses are available here: If Wishes Were Horses
