Today was supposed to be another appointment for Ivy. I am not the most organized person, so I've been pretty proud how on top things I've been--getting a bag of snacks and toys together, actually getting out of the house on time. So it was quite a blow when I got everyone in the car today, turned the key--and nothing. I'd left the headlights on all night.
Every single time the batteries gone dead because of the lights being left on, it's been my fault. The chiming signal doesn't work any more (precious little does on this car), but still, back in the old days we didn't have to rely on chiming signals. I'm so paranoid about leaving the lights in parking lots on that I drive the girls crazy "wait, let me walk back and make sure I turned the lights off!" and they sigh and I check and everything is fine. But I turned them on yesterday because it was snowing hard and when I got home it wasn't dark yet, so nothing clicked "turn off the lights!" in my brain. We were able to reschedule easily, and Brian took the battery up the street to the car place (we tried a jump from the neighbor, but it didn't take). And while I still felt like a dunce, it was kind of a relief to now have the day free. We cleaned up the seasonal table
Checked the yard for signs of spring. Spring takes a while to come to northern Ohio
And hung pieces of yarn on the trees in the front yard in hopes we'll spot them in birds' nests later in the season.
Yes, that's snow still on the ground. Yesterday it started snowing again and by evening everything was covered. Today it's almost gone. The weather's been crazy up and down all winter. I really hope it's over, but I'm sure we have one more snowfall coming, just to remind us that we live in Cleveland.
ugh. that looks like our upstate new york spring too! overcast, cold, snow. bleh.
yarn in the tree is so very very clever! great idea.
