Ivy was invited to a number of birthday parties this summer. My usual gift is a tote bag with a book, but I'd made quite a few of those and wanted to try something new. The Traveling Art Show (opens as pdf) was the perfect project. A heartfelt thank you to Josie at Bread and Buttons for so generously sharing her pattern--I'll be making a lot of these. It's quick and easy, and perfect for using up small pieces of fabric
The second one I made turned out a little better, I think. And I had more time to shop around for things to fill it. I particularly like the little composition notebook.
The mushroom fabric was from part of a swap I made with Josie a while back, so I really feel as though she helped me with this project 8-)
That looks like a good idea - I'll have to make one for our five year old granddaughter
